Being a conservative is being Christian?
Conservative: Enforce our moral beliefs through Government!
Bible: Then Jesus said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's."... - Mark 12:17 Also Jesus did not change the world by becoming a politician, nor did he in any way try to enforce beliefs on them. The Jewish community was enforced by laws, but the law was completed when Jesus came.
Conservative: But theses people are ruining our religious values!
Bible: "...'If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.' " - John 8:7 According to the Bible everyone is sinful, you ruin your own values just as much as anyone else. Unless you are perfect you have no right to condemn anyone else's actions.
Conservative: They caused 9/11 we have to attack back!
Bible: "If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also..." - Luke 6:29 "But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" - Matthew 5:44 "Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness." - James 3:18
Conservatives: The poor are the problem in this country! They deserve to be oppressed!

Proverbs 28:27 "But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?" - 1 John 3:17

I don’t think it’s the same thing at all. Passing judgment on people treating other people like shit is a valid reaction. Passing judgment isn’t bad in & of itself, the reason for doing so determines the legitimacy of your passing judgment.
